Knife-wielding man fights off crocodile that had his friend’s head in a vise-grip: report

A crocodile-pelt-wielding man fought off a dangerous animal in a vise-grip and then calmly decapitated the animal using a kitchen knife, a report said.

The man, from Florida, said he had fought off the croc in his home when he noticed it eyeing up his son’s head in a kitchen vise-grip, The Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel newspaper in Florida said.

The man was holding a knife when the croc grabbed his son’s head and took his head in its jaws.

“It took my full concentration to fight off the croc,” the man told the newspaper.

A second man who was with the first man said the man decapitated the croc after the animal bit him on the arm.

The Miami Herald newspaper in Florida said the first man’s name was Richard and the second man’s name was James.

The croc had been spotted twice in the past few weeks, one killing a dog and another killing a goat in a nearby cemetery, the Herald said.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said it would check its records and was asking anyone with information to contact the agency.

A man, identified by the Sun-Sentinel was also killed by a croc in the previous week in Florida, authorities said.

The man, from Florida, was sitting in the river and saw the croc grab the leg of his son, the Sun-Sentinel said.

In the struggle, the croc bit off the leg of his son and the son’s body was thrown into the river, the paper said.

The man was treated for minor injuries but later died of his injuries, the Sun-Sentinel said.
