An F1 Driver Is Not Alone in the Cockpit During a Race. What Happens in the Lap Timer

On a typical race weekend for Ferrari in the World Championship, you will find the race with an F1 driver on the team at the center of the story.

There are the moments of pure thrill: He took out his team mate’s front wing on his way to fourth on the grid, had some mechanical problems to work out but came home to score a dominant win for the team, took the flag for his team in the race and then handed it to his team mate, as he did again the following weekend.

But on the other hand, there are the moments of uncertainty, when everything seems to be going well at the race center, when the team knows what it has to do, when they know what they have to do to win the race, when things are going in the direction they want them to go, when the team is in the process of winning and suddenly the team loses a couple of places.

For example, the following races, the drivers on the team could not win, were not in the hunt, lost positions, because of a single lap error, or a bad qualifying attempt for one of the many reasons.
