How the Astros Beat the Yankees in Game 4 to Reach the World Series
This post will try to answer the question of whether the Astros, or any MLB team, can beat a team that is not even supposed to be in the playoffs, but somehow, just by sheer serendipity, manages to avoid being swept by the worst team in the league.
Game 1
Game 1 ended in a 3 to 2 tie. The Astros were down 2 games to none heading into Game 2, and had lost four straight. The Yankees offense was stifling, and it was only the Astros bullpen that could stop them.
The Astros looked good in Game 2, but then they allowed three runs to score in the ninth inning. This sent the scoreline into a tie game.

The Yankees were able to come back to win the series 3 to 2, so the Astros had to win this game, too.
The Astros were able to get two key hits in Game 3. The first hit came when the Astros infield single scored David Cooper. The second hit came when the Astros double play ended the inning. The only problem is that Cooper’s hit was unearned.
The Astros were unable to hit them back in Game 3, and the Yankees offense was able to score six runs. The Astros were able to get three hits in Game 3, but the hits were all singles.
Game 4
The Astros offense was all over the field in Game 4, and was able to score a total of eight runs. Four came in the fifth inning, and the other four came in the ninth inning.
This game was also an inning-eating contest that ended in a scoreless tie after two hours and 10 minutes of baseball.
The Astros offense was led by their four starting pitchers. They were able to pitch eight innings and earn a victory.
The Astros bullpen was very strong in Game 4, only allowing three hits and two runs. This allowed the Astros to remain in the game and win the game.
Game 5
The Astros offense continued their assault in Game 5, and was able to score six runs in the first inning. They ended up scoring nine runs in the same inning, as they added three more runs in the third, and three more in the seventh inning.
This was the last inning in the game, as the Astros offense could keep
