Geez, Even Fargo Has Gone Upscale
As the nation’s largest city grows, other cities aren’t always able to keep pace. It was a common misconception that the growth of downtown Minneapolis around the Nicollet Mall was out of control and led to traffic and congestion that killed the business district. The area around the Bader Wine Garden has an excellent selection of wines. This restaurant has a full bar and a large selection of wine offerings. All the wines here are reasonably priced and offer great value.
If you’re looking for a great meal in the afternoon, try the Flemming’s on Hennepin Avenue and 5th. This is a casual restaurant and is always crowded with a mix of families and business people.
While there are a couple of restaurants on the main strip that serve a larger selection of food, they usually don’t serve alcohol. You can eat at the Lidl along Hennepin Avenue and University. While the prices are slightly higher than other restaurants, the food and service are great.
If you’re looking for a quick meal, try one of the few burger joints in the area. Check out the menu at Fred’s on Plymouth. You can get a burger for about $7 and chips for $4.
